ESPN Pardon The Interruption

After 18 years ESPN’s Pardon The Interruption has moved to a new studio in Washington DC’s ABC News bureau.  The set designed by Jack Morton Worldwide keeps many of the iconic elements while significantly upgrading technology and the Hosts interaction through its use. Upgrades include a large upstage LED wall for animations, graphics and segment introductions. Additionally, the host can now have more direct video interactions with guests through the use of articulating video displays.

MOULIN ROUGE POSTER

Moulin Rouge

Nominated for a 2020 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design, this set designed by Derek McLane is lush, over the top and an opulent spectacle. Showman created the massive layered heart portal which frames the stage. The portal consists of multiple ornately latticed concentric arches. Each are steel frames with highly detailed CNC cut steel face panels. Meticulously applied rich fabrics and hand stenciled paint details create a rich visual pallet. The integrated LED lighting within the heart shaped arches sets the stage for this grand surrounding.

CBS Election Night Desk

Set design for CBS News’ coverage of the 2020 United States presidential election, branded on-air as “2020 America Decides.” The set was located in the studio that formerly housed MTV’s “Total Request Live” (TRL), which is located on the second floor of ViacomCBS headquarters in Times Square. The set included multiple presentation areas and the network’s Decision Desk along with an area for augmented reality graphics.
